Pikanini Baby Academy operates as a trusted advisor to all parents. The Academy provides strategically designed and structured classes that allow parents the option of attending one or following a natural progression through the entire portfolio.

Pikanini has created a unique concept that does not isolate developmental activities but rather combines an entire portfolio that addresses all early childhood development challenges. We always strive to create an environment where every parent can:

Birth, Baby and Beyond Childbirth Education Classes:
The birth of your baby is an exciting time. Being well prepared for what lies ahead ensures that you and your partner will enter this time knowing that you have the knowledge to cope with all eventualities that surround the birth of your baby.

Age Appropriate Stimulation Workshops: (Pikanini Play & Learn Workshops)
Join one of our Play and Learn workshops to make sure that you enjoy every minute with your child to the fullest. All babies learn through play and by using our researched playing techniques you will give your child the best possible learning foundation! Excellent opportunity to get Nannies and Grandparents involved!

Dunstan Baby Language Workshop:
The Dunstan Baby Language Workshop teaches you to hear exactly what your baby is communicating. As a parent, you are able to interpret your infant’s sounds and cries – and respond to their needs.

Baby Hands Sign Language for Parents / Caregivers Workshop: Giving your baby a hand until they find the words. Baby Hands SA is an innovative Sign Language Programme for hearing babies, bridging the communication gap between baby and parent, minimising frustration until they find they words.

Baby Hands Sign and Rhyme 5 Week Course:
Unique in SA! – Sign & Rhyme Course for babies & toddlers. The Sign & Rhyme Course has been tried and tested around the world for over 3 years and has now been adapted for the SA market using South African Sign Language.

BabyGym 5 Week Course:
The Five Week BabyGym programme shows parents and caregivers how to make every precious moment spent with baby really counts. Babies and children learn and grow by movement through play. By encouraging your baby to move and play using the entire body, you are giving the gift of spontaneous whole-brain learning.

Baby Massage & Newborn Crash Course 3 Week Course:
Giving your child the touching gift of love. Baby massage is a wonderful experience for both you and your baby. It is so simple in terms of technique, yet so powerful in what it conveys – your love, your understanding and your attention.

Love Languages for Children Workshop:
Our children often speak a language we may not always understand. "Chill out", "way cool man." But when it comes to our children understanding what we say, we may not fully communicate our ideas either. Can you speak - and do you speak - your child's Love Language?

Monthly Mommy Mornings:
Pikanini Mommy Mornings are excellent forums for gathering information, sharing your stories & challenges, getting advice and networking with other like-minded parents.

Madam and Eve Course:
Healthcare professionals worldwide agree that it is in the interest of your child’s health to have him cared for in his own home environment for the first year. The Pikanini Madam & Eve course will equip your domestic worker to care for your Pikanini at home, leaving you with peace of mind to focus on returning back to work.

Private consultations that address sleeping, routine, discipline and more:
After the birth of a baby, one of the biggest adaptations you have to make is to adjust your life according to the sleep patterns of your newborn. Most parents expect to have interrupted sleep for a short while, but when this occurs regularly for an extended period, sleep deprivation can take its toll on relationships with partners, family and friends. Refresher Course for second time parents. It’s exciting to discover you are expecting a child, but you may also have some mixed feelings and some questions on how to do things better this time round. Whether it is the second, third or fourth pregnancy, each time your feelings will be different depending on the current circumstances and what has gone before.
